I vow to quit politics if I lose and in case Dushyant loses, he should apologise to his grandfather Om Prakash Chautala.

ABHAY CHAUTALA , Indian National Lok Dal leader

CHANDIGARH: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Abhay Chautala on Monday accused his nephew and Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala of having betrayed the people of Haryana by joining hands with BJP to form a coalition government.

He dared him to re-contest the elections and repeat his victory.

Daring Dushyant to resign from Uchana Kalan and contest from there again, Abhay said he was ready to resign and re-contest from Ellenabad: “I vow to quit politics if I lose and in case Dushyant loses, he should apologise to his grandfather Om Prakash Chautala, the founder of INLD, from which the JJP had split in December 2018,” Abhay said.

‘DUSHYANT WOULD BE TAUGHT A LESSON’

Stating that the people of the state had voted for JJP to vent their ire against the BJP, Abhay said, “The JJP has betrayed the people by joining BJP to form the government and such is the anguish of the people against the JJP that its MLAS are avoiding going to their constituencies,” he alleged.

Abhay said that he was sure that in event of a re-election ‘Dushyant would be taught a lesson’ and he will again have the people’s support.

‘BJP, CONGRESS ARE ALLIES’

Referring to the recent Rajya Sabha elections, Abhay went on to allege that the polls had brought out the alliance between the ruling BJP and opposing Congress.

“The two parties have a mutual understanding, which why the BJP did not field a candidate for the third seat after Congress fielded Deepender Hooda as a Congress candidate. Since the Congress had helped BJP in the previous Rajya Sabha election, the BJP was returning the favour,” he said.

He was eferring to how Inldcongress joint candidate RK Anand had lost despite having the numbers and Bjp-supported Subhash Chandra had won in 2016.
