What happened to the pregnant elephant in Kerala is heartbreak­ing, inhumane and unacceptab­le. The conflict of rights is the bane of the modern world. The mananimal conflict, which arises out of sharing nature’s resources, needs an equitable framework for the peaceful coexistenc­e of different species. Humans are earth’s repository and the onus lies on us to save it along with all those who live on it.
