CONG TAILSPINS INTO CHAOS

The love for dynastic politics has put the Congress party at the risk of losing the position of the main opposition party. It wasn’t long ago when Jyotiradit­ya Scindia defected to the BJP. Now, Sachin Pilot’s resentful stand against Gehlot in Rajasthan has again brought to light the serious infighting within the party. The chaos can be traced to a weak party leadership. Young and dynamic politician­s, Scindia and Pilot, were once considered as the trump cards in the party’s resurgence. If Pilot quits the party, Congress is likely to collapse. Blaming BJP for the collapse will not help for no political leader can be poached unless they are ready to get poached.

Indies who beat England by four wickets to clinch the first Test of the three-match series played without the spectators. Chasing 200 on an absorbing final day of the Test, Windies were reeling at 27 for three at one stage. But Jermaine Blackwood, who smashed a scintillat­ing 95, helped his side romp home triumphant without further hiccups. He withstood a barrage of hostile and accurate fast bowling from Anderson, England’s all-time leading Test wicket taker, and Bess with grip, grit and aplomb. What a thrilling return of cricket!

Tarsem S Bumrah strengthen­ed India’s standing. Over the last few months, the relationsh­ip between India and Nepal has been deteriorat­ing. In this case, the incident has added fuel to the fire. The speed with which the credibilit­y of the media has fallen in the last few years is worrying. In the 2020 World Press Freedom Index, India was ranked 142 in a list of 200 countries while India’s rankings in 2019 and 2018 were 140 and 138, respective­ly. This is because these days, the media is asking questions to the opposition and the public, instead of the government.

Gaurav Kumar the 21st century, all are aware of gender discrimina­tion in India. It is important now to set aside benefits on the basis of gender specifical­ly and focus on uplifting all communitie­s and social entities. Traffic rules are to be understood by all, we do not have separate roads to drive on for boys, girls or transgende­rs.
