GANGSTER HELD FOR MURDER IN JALANDHAR, WEAPONS SEIZED

JALANDHAR: The commissionerate police arrested gangster Akashdeep Singh of Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar for the murder of their former accomplice, Nitin Arora, after an argument on the intervening night of July 5 and July 6.

Police commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said police had seized illegal pistols and cartridges from Akashdeep, the main accused, near Paragpur. The cops have also recovered two 7.65mm illegal pistols, live cartridges and a bike (PB10-EK2959).

The commissioner added that a joint team of the CIA and the Bhargo Camp police nabbed another accomplice of Akashdeep, Rajat, and brought Dalbir Singh Beera from Amritsar jail on production warrant and took Sahil of Bohra Colony, Ferozepur into custody after his name surfaced in interrogation.

A FIR under Sections 302 (murder), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and under Section 3 of the Disease Act has been registered. He added that Akashdeep would be produced before the local courts for police custody.
