CONG MUST PUT HOUSE IN ORDER

The current turmoil in the Congress represents a deeper malaise which it doesn’t augur well for the country’s democratic polity. The Congress is on the path of self-destructio­n, as it has failed to accommodat­e ambitions and aspiration­s of its young and bright leaders. It has lost some of them, namely Himanta Biswa Sarma in Assam and Jyotiradit­ya Scindia in MP, to the BJP. Now, it is unable to mollify Sachin Pilot. The Congress high command must put its house in order and position itself as a viable alternativ­e in national politics.

Dr BN Anand, Mohali economy, reeling under a slowdown. It also recognises the country’s digital potential and would create huge opportunit­ies for both start-ups and youth with the right skill-set. Google will do well to invest a part of its tranche in upgrading college and university education. A new talent pool will be created.

Jagampal Singh, Patiala a new era of digitisati­on. It will not only boost digital technologi­es, but also give a fillip to the economy reeling under the covid-19 pandemic. If leveraged properly, this investment will create many opportunit­ies for employment.

Varun Malik, Chandigarh to deliver more in the area of improving quality in education with technology as a tool. The National Council of Educationa­l Research and Training (NCERT) and the SCERTS (State Council of Educationa­l Research and Training) should play a dominant role. Equipment and training are prerequisi­tes. Teachers should be given more training and more free time to think and invent new ways of teaching.

Dubey’s interrogat­ion could have unearthed his links with police and political parties. A lot of questions regarding Dubey’s encounter are left unanswered.
