BANNED PILLS, CELLPHONE RECOVERED FROM INMATE
PATIALA: Authorities at the Patiala Central Jail recovered 250 banned tablets, an injection, two packets of tobacco and two mobile phones from an inmate. He has been identified as Malkeet Singh of Sangrur. Jail’s assistant superintendent Teja Singh told the police that they had information that the inmate had mobile phones and banned tablets in his possession. On interrogation, Malkeet revealed that he had hidden it in the jail hospital. A case has been registered under Section 42, 52-A of the Prison
Act and 22, 61 and 85 of the
NDPS Act.
