CONGRESS, UDF SEEK PM MOVE
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress MP and United Democratic Front (UDF) convener Benny Behnan sent a letter to the PM Modi seeking his intervention to take legal action against Kerala higher education minister K T Jaleel under the provisions of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act. After his name surfaced in the call list of Swapna Suresh, second accused, the minister said he called her in connection with distribution of Ramzan kits in his constituency and he admitted the UAE Consulate in Thiruvananthapuram had paid ~5 lakh towards this. “The conduct of the minister is punishable under the act. We request you to refer the issue to the investigating agency,” said the UDF convener.
Chennithala on Sunday asked probe agencies to question CM Vijayan. “Involvement of his two key aides surfaced. Now he can’t wash off his hands. He will have to be grilled,” he said.
