HEAVY RAIN EXPECTED TODAY

CHANDIGARH: After 1.4 mm of rain on Monday, heavy rain (up to 70mm) has been predicted for the city by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for Tuesday, followed by up to 60mm forecast for Wednesday. “The rain will be a result of the confluence between monsoon winds and Western disturbances. So, storms with gusty winds of over 45 km/hour are likely along with rain, which will be most intense on Monday and Tuesday with chances of heavy showers. From Wednesday, light to moderate rain up to 30mm is likely to continue in the city,“IMD officials said on Monday. Maximum temperature went down from 34.5°C on Sunday to 32.9°C on Monday while the minimum temperature dipped from 28.1°C on Sunday to 27.2°C on Monday. In the next three days, maximum temperatures will remain between 29°C and 33°C, while the minimum temperature will remain between 24°C and 26°C.
