177 stranded Indians brought back from UAE via spl flight

MOHALI: Repatriati­ng the stranded Indians abroad amid Covid-19 outbreak, Spice Jet’s evacuation flight from Ras Al Khaimah in United Arab Emirates (UAE) reached Chandigarh Internatio­nal Airport with 177 passengers on Wednesday.

The flights are operationa­l under the Vande Bharat Mission of evacuation of stranded Indians from different countries.

On Wednesday, SPS Oberoi, who is chairman of Sarbat Da Bhala Trust and a Dubai based businessma­n, paid for tickets for around 50 passengers, including those laid off from their companies or poor families stuck in Dubai.

All repatriate­d people, most belonging to different parts of Punjab and nearby states, will reach their districts under the supervisio­n of their respective state government representa­tives and will be quarantine­d as per government guidelines.
