REPRESENTATION AGAINST MC TENDER
CHANDIGARH : At a time when the UT forest department is celebrating Van Mahotsav and distributing free saplings, the municipal corporation has floated a ₹1.42-crore tender for a plantation drive. The move has kicked up a row with city-based RTI activist RK Garg urging the UT administrator to cancel the said tender. “The entire amount will be spent on acquiring plants which are available free of cost with the UT forest department,” Garg said. The horticulture division of MC had issued the tender for providing and planting of different kinds of plants along various V3 roads.
