88% DRAINS CLEANED IN STATE, SAYS SARKARIA

CHANDIGARH: Punjab water resources minister Sukhbinder Sarkaria on Friday said the state had completed 88% of the work of cleaning drains, adding that the state government had spent Rs 50 crore on widespread flood management measures and also gave approval for funds to the tune of ₹5 crore to the DCS and ₹5 crore to the chief engineer/ drainage. Cleaning of 1,781 km of proposed 2,019 km of drains had been completed, he added.
