Kaithal man axed to death by younger brother

KARNAL: A 40-year-old man was hacked to death allegedly by his younger brother in Umedhpur village of Kaithal district, police said on Sunday.

Balbir Singh was attacked with an axe by his brother Sohan Lal in the wee hours of Sunday, victim’s wife Geeta Rani told the police.

Soon after getting the information, cops reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy.

A first information report (FIR) was registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused.

Investigating officer Chanderbhan said that preliminary investigation suggested that the incident was a result of some family dispute.

He said the axe has been recovered from the spot.
