PAK OPENS HEAVY FIRE IN POONCH
JAMMU : Pakistan on Sunday opened fire on Indian posts and forward villages along the Line of Control (LOC) in Balakote sector of Poonch district drawing retaliation by the Indian Army in equal measure. On Saturday, lieutenant governor during his visit to Poonch had handed over cheques of ₹5 lakh each to six kins of border shelling victims. Defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said, “Pakistani troops opened unprovoked fire followed by mortars in the Balakote sector around 3.15 pm. Indian Army is retaliating befittingly.”
