ELDERLY WOMAN LOSES GOLD CHAIN TO SNATCHER IN SEC 15

CHANDIGARH: A 73-year-old woman lost her gold chain to a snatcher in Sector 15, police said on Tuesday. The incident took place the previous evening when Shakuntala (only first name given) was returning from market. She told police that as she reached the residential area, a youth approached her from the rear and fled after snatching her gold chain. Police are scanning CCTV footage of the area. A case under has been registered at the Sector 11 police station.
