LOCUST SWARMS ENTER BHIWANI, HISAR, NO REPORT OF CROP LOSS

ROHTAK: Locust swarms on Tuesday entered villages in Bhiwani from Rajasthan border and moved towards Hisar by the evening.the first swarm was spotted in Siwani block’s Jhumpa village, second in Gurera and third in Kheda village. Bhiwani deputy director (agricultur­e) Pratap Singh said three swarms of locust entered the district from Rajasthan side, but there wasn’t any large-scale damage to the crop. His Hisar counterpar­t Vinod Phogat said the locusts were still active in Gawad, Bherian, gorchi, Panihar, Muklan, Basda and other adjoining villages and an anti-locust mission has been launched with the help of farmers.
