PDP LEADERS TERM AUGUST 5 A BLACK DAY
SRINAGAR/JAMMU: On the foundation day of the Peoples Democratic Party, leaders said they will fight for the dignity and honour of the people of J&K and termed August 5 as a Black Day.
“The vision and roadmap of the party is clear and emphasises on the resolution of all the issues through dialogue and peaceful means”, the party leaders said, while addressing a gathering here at the party headquarters to mark 21st foundation day of PDP.
“Today the relevance of the PDP’S vision has assumed more significance in view of the current scenario not only in J&K but entire subcontinent. We have been insisting that there is no alternate to reconciliation and dialogue and our late leader Mufti Muhammad Sayed always believed that J&K can be an epicentre of South Asian cooperation,” they observed. The speakers highlighted the contribution of the party in restoring peace not only in J&K but in the entire region after its formation in 1999. Senior party leaders said August 5 was a black day in the constitutional history of J&K as solemn commitments made by the parliament and the constitution of India were annulled for the majoritarian goal of “painting the country saffron”.
