LS secretariat officers to face assessment
NEWDELHI: Lok Sabha secretariat has started an assessment to identify officers who are not “gainfully employed”, according to a circular issued earlier this month. The move comes after the Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla, met senior officials to review the functioning of various branches of the secretariat. The Lok Sabha has around 2,000 employees.
This is the first such exercise to assess the performance or output of LS officials and comes as a part of Birla’s measures to change the way the secretariat works. The assessment of the officers’ performances also comes in the view of the introduction of digital technology.
