Sangrur man ends life by jumping from tower

SANGRUR : A 35-year-old man, Balvir Singh alias Bira of Mahmadpur, committed suicide by jumping from a telephone tower on Friday night at Mahmadpur village near Sherpur. The Firstinformation Report (FIR) states that Bira was being threatened of being implicated in a false case. The accused are Gurmeet Singh (ex-sarpanch), Nirbhai Singh, Gurmeet Singh Fouji (former sarpanch), Gobind Singh Panch, Balwinder Singh, Bharpur Singh and Sukha Singh, residents of Mahmadpur.

Seven men were booked under section 306 of the IPC.
