THE TRIO SUBMIT MEMO AGAINST BONY TO THE PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO SGPC CHIEF GOBIND SINGH LONGOWAL

AMRITSAR: Upping the ante against former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA Amarpal Singh Bony, three Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) members on Saturday threatened to resign from the membership on the issue of transfers of SGPC employees.

The members are Jodh Singh Samra and Amrik Singh Vichhoa, who were elected from Ajnala constituency, and Swaran Kaur Tera, who is a member from Guru Ka Bagh. Samra is reportedly a close associate of SAD’S Bikram Singh Majithia.

The trio gave a memorandum to Mahinder Singh Ahli, who is personal assistant to SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal. They alleged that certain transfers of SGPC employees made in their constituencies are without their consent and Bony is behind it.

Giving three-day ultimatum, they threatened to resign from membership of the gurdwara body if the transfer orders are not revoked by Monday.

“These allegations are baseless. I don’t interfere in affairs of the gurdwaras. Why would I do so?” said Bony.

Bony became part of SAD (Taksali), a splinter group of the SAD, before rejoining the mother party. However, after rejoining, he is facing opposition within the party in Ajnala segment.
