DHINDSA ORGANISES ‘AKHAND PATH’ , SAYS IS ATTEMPT AT REDEMPTION

SANGRUR:RAJYA Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa has said that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) was responsible for 267 saroops of the Guru Granth Sahib going missing. Dhinda, who heads a splinter faction of the Akalis, had organised an ‘Akhand Path’ at Mastuana Sahib Gurdwara on Saturday, saying this was an attempt at redemption for the missing saroops.

“The incident of missing saroops has hurt the sentiments of Sikh community, but the SGPC neither informed the sangat, nor conducted any probe. The SGPC never even tried for redemption which was its responsibility. Its negligence raises suspicion on the role of its management,” Dhindsa claimed. Former jathedar Ranjit Singh alleged that ex-cm Parkash Singh Badal and SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal had damaged Sikh institutions.

Among others who attended the ‘Path’ were ex-mp Paramjit Kaur Gulshan; former cabinet minister Sewa Singh Sekhwan; former speaker Bir Devinder Singh; former Sangrur MP Balwant Singh Ramoowalia and Lehra MLA Parminder Singh Dhindsa.
