MC REMOVES FOUR TELECOM TOWERS

CHANDIGARH: The municipal corporation on Sunday removed four towers erected by a telecom firm in different parts of Chandigarh. In his orders, MC commissioner KK Yadav had stated: “No prior permission was taken to erect the towers. A notice was issued to the company last year to remove them by July 23, but they have not acted on it.” The towers were located in the Industrial Area, Sector 28 and Kishangarh. The company will also have to pay penalty and rental income for the duration the towers were erected, an MC official said.
