Despite curbs, 16 from J&K crack the exam

JAMMU/SRINAGAR: Despite crackdown followed by lockdown and the absence of 4G network since August 5 last year, 16 Jammu and Kashmir and Ladkah residents cleared the civil service examinatio­ns, the results of which were declared on Tuesday.

Those who cleared the exam are Abhiskhek Augustya (38), Sunny Gupta (148), Dev Ahuti (177), Parth Gupta (240), Asrar Ahmad Kitchloo (248), Asif Yousuf Tantray (328), Namgyal Angmo (323), Nadia Beigh (350), Aftab Rasool (412), Sabzar Ahmad Ganie (628), Majid Iqbal Khan (638), Stanzin Wangyal (716), Rayees Hussain (747), Mohammed Nawas Sharaf Uddin Sharafuddi­n (778), and Syed Junaid Adil (822).

KUPWARA WOMAN RANKS 350

One of the youngest aspirants to qualify is 24-year-old Nadia Beigh from Kupwara. She cracked the exam in her second attempt and achieved all India rank of 350. In her first attempt in 2018, she had not been able to even qualify the prelims. “It has been a daunting journey. This is my second attempt. In 2018, I could not qualify prelims,” she said. She did her schooling in Kupwara and went to Jamia Millia Islamia to complete her honours in economics in 2017.

Aftab Rasool, 29, from Trehgam Kupwara, qualified in his third attempt and ranked 412. “I have fulfilled my dream and am so happy” he said.
