13 fatalities, 473 fresh cases in J&K

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday recorded 13 deaths and 473 fresh Covid-19 infections, taking the total number of positive cases in the Union territory to 23,927, officials said.

A government spokespers­on said 142 people were discharged in Jammu division and 368 in Kashmir.

Of the new cases, 345 are from Kashmir and 128 from Jammu division. Among these, 52 patients have a travel history.

Officials said 13 more people have succumbed to the disease in Kashmir. With this, the death toll in the UT has risen to 449—415 fatalities in Kashmir and 34 in Jammu division till date. The highest single day spike of 17 deaths, since the pandemic spread, was recorded on July 30. The death toll had crossed 300 mark on July 25.HTC
