CATCHING UP

India has not signed deals with any of the vaccine makers yet. To be sure, as a country with enough vaccinemaking capacity, it can always play catch-up with countries that have already planned their Covid-19 vaccine stockpiles, but it wouldn’t hurt to do this now. The creation of a panel by the Indian government to identify the vaccine and other aspects related to it suggests that New Delhi has realised this
