Investigation was hampered when I was quarantined: Bihar IPS officer
PATNA: The Patna superintendent of police (SP) who reached Mumbai to oversee Bihar’s probe into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death but was quarantined said on Friday that the investigation was hampered when he was put into isolation.
IPS officer Vinay Tiwari had reached Mumbai on Sunday to oversee the probe into the FIR filed against actress Rhea Chakraborty in Rajput’s death case. On his arrival in Mumbai, Tiwari was asked to remain in quarantine till August 15 in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and was stamped as quarantined by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
“I would say I wasn’t quarantined. The investigation was quarantined. Our investigation was obstructed. They quarantined me, which hampered the investigation. We cannot say anything about what their (Mumbai Police/bmc) intention was,” the officer told reporters at the Mumbai airport before boarding a flight to Patna.
He said the four-member Patna police team, which had been probing the case in Mumbai since July 27, had prepared a list of those who were residing and working with the deceased actor. “We are capable of solving the mystery behind the actor’s death, but the Mumbai police obstructed our way,” he said.
