HARYANA TO TURN PACS INTO MULTI SERVICE CENTRES
CHANDIGARH: Haryana co-operation minister Banwari Lal has given an in-principle sanction to transform 95 primary agricultural co-operative societies (PACS) into multi-service centres. Rajiv Mahajan, chief general manager, Haryana regional office, Nabard, in a statement said by dovetailing this NABARD scheme with central government’s agri-infra fund scheme, the loan will be provided to PACS at a meagre 1% rate of interest. This will enable them to create agri-infrastructure in and around their villages like rural warehouses and cold storage chains so that the farmers can get fair and remunerative prices for their produce, Mahajan said.
