SGPC MEMBER FROM MANSA QUITS SAD

BATHINDA: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) member from Mansa, Mithu Singh Kahneke, has resigned from the primary membership of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Kahnke said on Monday he did not agree with the top leadership of the SAD for supporting three Central ordinances related to the agriculture sector. “The SAD has failed to raise the voice of minorities and the party leadership proved weak on the issue of deteriorating federal structure in the national polity. I am taking the opinion of the like-minded persons for joining a non-sad, non-congress platform,” said Kahnke. A retired science teacher, Kahnke was elected as an SGPC member since 2011. He said that he continues to be the SGPC member.
