DOCTORS IN CIVIL SERVICES END UP WASTING MEDICAL SEATS

-

The recently announced UPSC results show there were many doctors among the successful candidates. They should have planned a career in the civil services after Class 12 and studied BSC instead of doing MBBS that too from a government medical college. They deprived other deserving candidates at a time when doctors are scarce. Besides, the government spends lakhs on them by subsiding their education. Had they studied in a private medical college by paying a huge amount as fee, they would not have opted for the UPSC. It seems these candidates are unsure about their capabilities so they appeared in both exams. This is happening every year. Such candidates should be barred from appearing in the civil services exam.
