Jind police bust ATM card cloning gang, arrest four
ROHTAK: Jind police claimed to have busted an interstate ATM card cloning gang active in Haryana, Delhi and seven other states with the arrest of four persons on Monday.
The accused have been identified as Sonu of Bhiwani, Ajay of Delhi, Jonny and Amrit, both from Hisar.
Additional superintendent of police (ASP) Ajit Singh Sekhawat said they had arrested main accused Sonu and Ajay from Delhi and the remaining two from Hisar. “We produced them in a court, which sent them in six-day police remand. Sonu revealed that they had duped 55 people — 17 in Haryana, 11 in Rajasthan, seven in Uttar Pradesh, six in Uttarakhand, five in Delhi, three each in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, two in Maharashtra and one in West Bengal,” the ASP added. The cop said the gang was busted after Sonu’s wallet fell outside an ATM in Jind’s Safidon when he was attempting card cloning.
“We arrested him from Delhi on the basis of documents found inside his wallet,” he added.
