SINCE APRIL, DAILY DEATHS REMAINED LOW DESPITE WAVES OF NEW CASES

As daily cases started rising outside of China by mid-march, daily deaths almost mirrored the case trajectory (albeit with a two-three week lag). However, as time progressed and doctors and scientists learnt more about the disease, we notice that daily deaths remained low despite a new (and much bigger) wave of cases through June till August.

While the global case fatality rate (CFR) rose till April, it has been improving almost consistent­ly since the start of May
