Revenue deficit: Centre releases ₹638-cr grant

CHANDIGARH: The Union finance ministry has released Rs 638 crore as grant-in-aid to cover deficit on post-devolution revenue account for 2020-21.

The release order for August instalment was issued by the Centre on Tuesday as per recommendation made by the 15th Finance Commission. “This is the fifth equated monthly instalment of the post-devolution revenue deficit grant. This will provide them additional resources during the corona crisis,” the Union finance minister’s office tweeted.
