8 FATALITIES, 482 FRESH INFECTIONS IN J&K

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday recorded eight deaths and 482 fresh Covid-19 infections, taking the total number of positive cases in the UT to 26,413, officials said.

For the first time, the recovery rate crossed 70%, the highest so far, after 544 more people were cured and discharged from various hospitals, taking overall recoveries to 18,523. Active cases in the UT stand at 7,392.

A government spokesperson said 88 people were discharged in Jammu division and 456 in Kashmir.

Of the total, 14,430 were cured in Kashmir and 4,093 in Jammu division.

Of the new cases, 376 are reported in Kashmir, and 106 from Jammu division.
