Get Trunat tests done at pvt hospitals: Aggarwal tells NRIS

-

LUDHIANA : All NRIS returning to the country or those leaving will have to get Trunat tests done at private hospitals or labs, stated the latest directions issued by additional chief secretary health Anurag Aggarwal.

Trunat test is a chip-based test that works to detect the components of the virus. The sample preparation in Trunat tests is automated, and the results are available within half an hour. The test uses nose or throat swab samples, which are collected from patients and dipped in a solution that inactivates the virus.

In a communication issued to all health departments across the state, Aggarwal said as certain countries have asked passengers to carry a negative PCR test report not earlier than 72 hours from the trip, the NRIS are advised to visit private hospitals or labs to get Trunat tests done.

Sources said the decision has been taken to reduce the testing load on government testing agencies. The order reads that Trunat machines must be used only for testing emergency cases like hospitalised, SARI, ILI cases. “These machines should not be used for conducting tests on the public including NRIS, who should be encouraged to get tests done at flu corner or by private testing centres,” it read.htc
