HIGH COURT BAR BODY DEMANDS RESTART OF PHYSICAL HEARINGS

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association on Wednesday again wrote to the HC chief justice demanding resumption of physical hearings, suspended since March in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak. The body has demanded that a strategy be chalked out to start the physical hearing of cases in a phased manner. Currently, 30-odd benches are functioning through video conferencing. These should be increased and all judges should take up cases, the body said. At least four such representations have gone to the HC administration in the past two months.
