Budget allocated for raised ex gratia to next of kin of battle casualties

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government has allocated budget for enhanced ex gratia payment of ₹50 lakh. to the next of kin of battle casualties and disabled soldiers.

A spokesperson of the defence services welfare department said the department has written to the Integrated Headquarters to ensure that the Battle Casualty Certificates in respect of martyrs of Galwan valley and other counter-insurgency operations, namely sepoy Gurbinder Singh; sepoy Gurtej Singh; lance naik Saleem Khan; naik Rajwinder Singh and sepoy Lakhveer Singh are provided on priority to ensure the disbursal of the ex gratia amount to the next of kin.
