15 deaths, 610 new cases in J&K

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded 15 deaths and 610 fresh Covid-19 infections, taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 31,981.

Over three-fourth of the total cases have recovered. Around 593 more people were cured and discharged from different hospitals, taking overall recoveries to 24,398, which account for a recovery rate of 76.2%.

There are, at present, 6,975 active cases in J&K. A government spokespers­on said 141 people were discharged in Jammu division and 452 in Kashmir. Of the total, 18,905 people have recovered in Kashmir and 5,493 in Jammu division.

As many as 492 people tested positive in Kashmir, including 26 travellers, while 118 cases were reported from Jammu, of which 50 were travellers.of the total number of positive cases in J&K, 5,840 were travellers, a spokespers­on said.

Officials said 15 more people succumbed to the disease, 11 of them in Kashmir and four in Jammu.
