AUNT HELD FOR AIDING MINOR’S RAPE IN KURALI

MOHALI: A woman was arrested on Sunday for allegedly helping a friend rape her minor niece in Kurali. The girl, aged around 14, had gone to live with her grandparents when the crime took place, her mother told police. The aunt even threatened the girl, it was alleged. The woman has been sent to one-day police remand. Police are on the look out for her friend. A case under Sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the duo.
