HC finds probe against War­ring, others, ‘vague’; seeks fresh re­port

CHANDIGARH:THE Pun­jab and Haryana high court has asked Pun­jab Po­lice to ap­prise the court whether it made Congress MLA Am­rinder Singh Raja War­ring and others to join probe in a case of vi­o­la­tion of Covid-19 norms .

The or­der was passed by high court bench of jus­tice HS Madaan. Dis­sat­is­fied over the re­port sub­mit­ted by Gid­der­baha po­lice, which, it said, “Re­sponse of the state filed is quite vague in cer­tain as­pects es­pe­cially with re­gard to re­spon­dent (War­ring and his as­so­ciates)”.

Now, an af­fi­davit has been sought de­tail­ing whether the al­le­ga­tions against them have been in­quired into prop­erly; whether com­plainant had also been asked to pro­duce the ev­i­dence avail­able with him. The mat­ter will be taken up for hear­ing on Septem­ber 24.

It was on July 13 that an FIR was reg­is­tered un­der the pro­vi­sions of the Epi­demic Dis­eases Act fol­low­ing a func­tion at Gid­der­baha, or­gan­ised on the ap­point­ment of new mar­ket com­mit­tee chair­man Sansar Singh.

The plea was filed by one Gurmeet Singh Mann, who had told the court that a gath­er­ings were or­gan­ised by lo­cal Congress lead­ers de­spite re­stric­tions.
