SCHOOLS NAMED AFTER FREEDOM FIGHTER, SLAIN SOLDIER

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government has decided to rename two government schools to honour the memory of a martyr and a freedom fighter, taking the number of such schools to 10. School education minister Vijay Inder Singla said that government senior secondary school (GSSS) at Veela Bajju village in Gurdaspur district is being named after Naik Kuljinder Singh, who laid his life while guarding the nation in Srinagar in 2005. Similarly, government middle school (GMS) at Mattran village in Sangrur has been named after freedom fighter Hazoora Singh, a prominent worker of

Parja Mandal movement.
