The World Health Organisati­on (WHO) has announced that it may take up to two years for the covid-19 pandemic to abate. Government­s in India and the general public, as a rule, are not being as careful as we need to be. Decreased fatality and enhanced recovery rate might give us some cheer, but the exponentia­lly increasein­numberofca­sesisabig worry. It has already become a great ordeal for a covid-19 patient to find a bed in a well-equipped hospital. The scenario is grim.
