ONE HELD FOR ILLEGAL MINING

JALANDHAR : Police have arrested Sandeep Singh of Nakodar on Thursday for carrying sand in an illegal manner near Shahkot town. Mining inspector Mohan Lal of Shahkot police station said he was stopped at a checkpoint, and failed to produce the required documents. Following this, his tractor and sand had been seized. Assistant sub-inspector Harbhajan Lal said a case under Section 21 of Mining Act and 379 (theft) of the IPC was registered.
