STUBBLE: INTERVENE ON TIME

Last year, the Punjab government promised to give farmers a compensation of Rs 2,500 per acre for not burning paddy stubble. Many farmers have still not received a penny. Not all farmers can afford to bear the expenses for managing stubble. Government intervention at the right time is critical.
