Travel agent booked for duping man of ₹11 lakh

JALANDHAR : A travel agent was booked on Thursday for duping a Jalandhar resident of over Rs 11 lakh on the pretext of sending him to the United States.

The accused has been identified as Baldev Raj of Maqsudan locality.in his complaint to police on August 8, Onkar Singh said the he paid Baldev Rs 11.65 lakh last year promising to send his son Sukhdev Singh to the US. But even after a year, he did not send his son abroad and returned only Rs 1 lakh, he claimed. A case has been registered under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) of the IPC.
