AAP to hold bike rallies in support of tractor parade

CHANDIGARH : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday said that the party would hold motorcycle rallies across the state to mobilise the people for the farmers’ tractor parade on January 26. In a statement, AAP’S state president Bhagwant Mann and kisan wing chief Kultar Sandhwan said the party would hold bike rallies on January 23. The tractor parade would be the first of its kind on Delhi roads and all MLAS and office-bearers of the party would take part in the procession as citizens, they said, adding that the AAP would not participat­e as a political party. “The Constituti­on gives the right to protest peacefully, but the Centre is trying to take away that right,” they said. chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday said the government must accept the agitating farmers’ demands in the next round of talks. He said the farmers have already spent almost two months on roads while protesting against the farm laws. The leader of opposition also said the farmers have made it clear to the government that they would not settle for anything less than a withdrawal of farm laws. “But the government is pretending as if it is unaware of the farmers’ demands.”
