Punjab records 9 more Covid deaths, 202 cases

THERE ARE 2,079 ACTIVE CASES IN PUNJAB; 1,64,937 HAVE BEEN CURED

CHANDIGARH: Punjab reported 202 fresh cases of the coronavirus and nine deaths due to it on Thursday.

With this, the total number of infections in the state have reached to 1,72,606 and the death toll is 5,590.

According to an official bulletin, there are 2,079 active cases of Covid-19 in the state now.

Among the fresh cases of the coronavirus, Ludhiana reported 47, Bathinda 25 and Jalandhar 21.

192 patients recover

A total of 192 coronavirus patients were discharged after recovering from the infection, taking the number of cured persons to 1,64,937.

Twelve critical patients are on ventilator support while 77 are on oxygen support, according to the bulletin.

A total of 44,25,238 samples have been collected for Covid-19 test in the state so far, it said. 97 test positive in Haryana, no death for

Haryana recorded 97 fresh coronavirus cases on Thursday, while no death due to the infection took place in the state for the third day in a row, a bulletin of the health department said.

The total number of fatalities in the state stands at 3,014, same as on Monday, according to the bulletin.

The 97 fresh cases included 19 from Gurgaon and nine each from Faridabad, Hisar, Karnal, Panchkula and Yamunanagar.

The total number of infections reported in the state has now risen to 2,67,601, as per the bulletin. The number of active cases in the state is 1,240, while 2,63,347 patients have recovered. The recovery rate is 98.41 percent, it stated.
