33 fatalities, 6,842 new cases in Haryana

CHANDIGARH: Thirty-three people succumbed to Covid in Haryana on Monday while the recovery rate declined with 6,842 new cases against 3,663 recoveries recorded in last 24 hours.

As per the health bulletin, the number of active patients rose to staggering 45,363 from 42,217 on Sunday as the recovery rate came down to 86.58% from 87.22% a day earlier and the positivity rate rose from 5.23% on Sunday to 5.30%. The number of critically-ill patients further rose to 852 with 131 patients on ventilator and the rest on oxygen support. As many as 87,126 people were vaccinated on Monday.

No shortage of ICU beds, ventilator­s, oxygen: Vij Despite massive increase in the Covid cases in Haryana, 89% isolation beds, 58% ICU beds and around 63% ventilator­s are vacant, health minister Anil Vij on Monday said, assuring citizens that oxygen availabili­ty was at least four times more than the consumptio­n.

He added the state government will not impose any lockdown on the occasion of Ram Navami on Wednesday.
