Mahindra BAJA SAEINDIA successfully ends 2nd leg of its 14th edition at Chitkara University

first leg (preliminary round) conducted in December 2020, wherein teams were asked to submit design report of their buggy along with automotive/ rulebook quiz and evaluation. The second leg consisted of static events done on personalised video conferencing software. Followed by this, the dynamic events were held virtually through IPG Carmaker. These included acceleration performance, brake performance, gradeability performance, maneuverability performance, suspension and traction performance, and all-terrain performance.
Each team’s goal was to think upon for a safe, easily transported, easily maintained and fun to drive prototype without any direct involvement from professional fabricators. To test the patience of the teams, restrictions including speed limit to 60kmph.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Madhu Chitkara, pro-chancellor of Chitkara University, said, “Our association with the BAJA SAEINDIA started in 2015 and has been growing ever since. I congratulate all winners and appreciate the efforts put in by other contestants to give a tough fight. As the world fights with a crisis, participants of this event have immense courage to showcase their talent at one of the nation’s best platforms. I also appreciate the organising committee for raising the bar of the event.”

For more than a decade, we have seen the students grow and develop their interpersonal skills, which in turn helps them to become wellrounded engineers,” remarked Dr Pawan Goenka, chairman steering committee, BAJA SAEINDIA 2021.
