DHARAMSHALA: Arriving on a two-day visit to Himachal Pradesh, his second to his home state in less than a fortnight, BJP national president JP Nadda on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had changed the political discourse of the country by focusing on nationalism and development instead of the Congress narrative of caste, community, region, religion and dynasty.

Addressing BJP workers at a rally at Nagrota Bagwan in Kangra district, Nadda said: “The political culture has changed under Modi. This is the difference between the kind of their politics and our politics.”

The BJP rally and roadshow were held on the eve of Aam Aadmi Party national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s rally at Shahpur in the district on Saturday.

Nadda said the Bjp-led central and state governments are responsive, responsible, and development-oriented.

“We understand the problems and try to bring a solution. When I say ours is a proactive government then there are examples to support the claim. It was the Modi government which provided you the vaccine against Covid-19. It was our government which brought back 23,000 students studying in Ukraine before the war broke out. Even Pakistanis thanked Modi for evacuating their kin,” he said.

“The US and European countries are reeling under the pandemic, while you have gathered here without masks to cheer and clap,” he said.

Claiming that India has transformed under Modi, Nadda said: “Look back at health services when a vaccine would take decades to reach India. Under the guidance of Modiji, we not only developed the anti-covid vaccine within nine months but also exported it to other countries besides inoculating 130 crore people of our country with both doses,” he said, adding

India is transforming.

Now HP, Gujarat’s turn to repeat feat Referring to the recent assembly elections in which the BJP registered a resounding victory in four states, Nadda said that in UP, a party in power was re-elected for the first time in 37 years. “The BJP retained power in Manipur, Uttarakhand and Goa. Now, it’s Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat’s turn to do so, too,” he said, praising the Jai Ram Thakur-led government for its achievements in the state.

Nadda accused the Congress of snatching Himachal’s special category status and industrial package. “

Earlier, Nadda led a roadshow in Nagrota Bagwan. The party is focusing on Kangra as it is a politically significant district that sends 15 legislators to the 68-member assembly.
