Khattar urges retired employees to become volunteers

CHANDIGARH: Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday called people to register themselves on the ‘Samarpan’ portal for serving the society as a volunteer. About 3,500 volunteers have registered on the portal and soon will be assigned the task to start social service, said Khattar. “There are many retired employees who wish to serve the society. During Covid, a portal was started for volunteers in which around 70,000 people have already registered. Every section of society should come forward and ensure maximum registrati­on,” he said. miscreants looted Rs 3.16 lakh from Canara Bank’s Upli branch in Gharaunda subdivisio­n of Karnal, police said on Thursday.
