NEW DELHI: Senior officers of the south Delhi police are puzzled for the past three days over a rape complaint filed by a Mumbai-based model-cumBollywood starlet.

The model, who participated in a TV reality show, has accused a high-profile politician of using black magic on her.

The aspiring actress has alleged that she was raped by a housekeeping staff of the hotel where she was staying in south Delhi. But she has been refusing to cooperate with the police in the probe.

The model has been avoiding medical examination and refused to record her statement and get counselling from members of an NGO that works in coordination with the police.

Owing to her non-cooperation, the police have not been able to take a call on converting her complaint into an FIR -- it is mandatory to convert complaints related to crime againt women verbatim into FIRs without delay. POLICE SOURCE

Till Wednesday, they were requesting the complainant to cooperate, sources said.

The drama started on Sunday when the Bollywood starlet called the police and accused the housekeeping staff of a hotel of stealing her valuables from the hotel room in which she was staying since Friday.

When the police reached there, the model accused the staff of raping her. She filed a written complaint with the Fatehpur Beri police station, police sources said.

A preliminary inquiry into her allegations revealed that the model had checked into the hotel in Sultanpur Majra area on March 13. After staying in the hotel for a few hours, she went to a nightclub in Greater Kailash where she partied with her friends till late in the night, police sources said.

“Around 4 am on March 14, the model returned to her hotel room in a taxi and she was heavily drunk. In the morning, the housekeeping staff of the hotel repeatedly knocked the door to wake her up and provide her morning tea and breakfast,” a source said.

When her repeated knocks went unanswered, the housekeeping staff informed the hotel manager and later unlocked the room with the spare key. The model was enraged as her room was unlocked without her permission.

“She created a ruckus at the hotel. And when the issue was not resolved, the model called the police,” said the source, adding doctors at the hospital suggested that she should be given proper counselling.
